IV SEDATION
For our very anxious patients or for patients who need complex treatment, we might recommend IV sedation. Older children won’t be able to drive; make sure someone can drive to and from the appointment.
With intravenous, or IV, sedation, the medication is administered directly into a vein so it takes effect quickly. Your child will need some recovery time in the office because IV sedation takes some time to leave the bloodstream. We will make sure your child feels okay and give you any additional instruction before you go.
