Our dental team understands the importance of a child’s development, which is why we offer growth and development assessments for your child.

Bringing your child in for regular visits from the time they are a year old will allow the Dentist to closely monitor your child’s oral health.

Keeping an eye on any changes, no matter how small, gives us the details we need to help prevent major dental problems in the future.

WHY ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT MY CHILD’S GROWTH?

At Carthage Pediatric Dental in Carthage, Missouri, we understand the rapid changes that occur in your child’s body between infancy and into young adulthood. Oral structure shifts and grows, so regular dental exams and good dental hygiene are essential to your child’s oral health. Our team focuses on prevention and education to ensure the best results from cleanings and procedures.

Many children have fears about visiting the Dentist, especially when very young. Our team is trained to be warm and friendly toward children and to be sensitive to their needs. We also offer sedation dentistry options like laughing gas and IV sedation.

WHAT ABOUT COST?

Our Doctors are ardent about giving children optimal dental health, which is why we work with insurance companies and with you to establish feasible payments and get your child’s teeth on a healthy path.

HEALTHY AT HOME

We work hard to follow your child’s development. Some of the ways you can help at home include:

Teaching your child to brush at least twice a day and floss at least once a day. If the child is under two, use water on a small toothbrush, but no toothpaste yet.
If your child is an infant, clean the mouth with a warm, damp cloth and skip the toothpaste.
Feeding your child healthy foods. The daily amounts of calcium needed for strong teeth and bones are 700 milligrams for children age one to three years, 1000 milligrams a day for children age four to eight years, and 1300 milligrams a day for children age nine to 18 years.
Unless you have fluoride in your water supply, your child should take a fluoride supplement.
